Learn more about Elsa in this Q&A below:

Q: Hi Elsa! How long have you been at Certilytics?

A: I started at Certilytics in February 2018, so just over 4.5 years!

Q: Can you tell us about your work background?

A: Prior to coming to Certilytics, my first job out of college was a consultant for a software company outside of Nashville, TN. I moved to Chicago and worked as an analyst for the Chicago Board Options Exchange and an options brokerage firm. Most recently, I worked as a Senior Data Analyst at a health insurance company in upstate New York. Certilytics provided a career opportunity that brought together my background in working with people, performing predictive analysis, and analyzing healthcare data.

Q: What’s a typical day like for you?

A: A typical day for me is a mix between meetings, interfacing with team members, and researching data questions. My team is responsible for testing and reviewing our products as they are developed and delivered. Every day, there can be something to review from working with business requirements and the development team to researching questions about the end product with the client deliverable team.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working for Certilytics?

A: The people I get to work with. There is always a lot to learn, and it is great to be surrounded by talented and hardworking co-workers. We work in a very collaborative environment that allows us to quickly solve problems and deliver solutions efficiently.

Q: Any developments or changes in the data analytics field that you find interesting or exciting?

A: I find it exciting what we are doing with data analytics that enable people to make data-driven decisions. Technology, along with new tools, has made it easier to collect data and convert them to critical insights. As new technology emerges, it’s allowing us to include larger collections of data and to streamline data more quickly. We are able to work with more data sets outside of the traditional medical and Rx to get a comprehensive look at each patient.

Q: What’s something people may not know about you?

A: In 10th grade, I attended a boarding school (Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy) 300 miles away from my hometown. Living away from home and meeting new people, I developed lifelong relationships that I have to this day!

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?

A: I like to get outside as much as I can!  I live in upstate NY, so I spend winters skiing with my family in the Adirondacks and in the mountains of VT.  I also enjoy hiking, playing tennis, and am getting back into golf!

Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Why?

A: There is no one place that I can single out. I enjoy traveling and am often looking for novel places to visit. I recently traveled to the Caribbean, Crete, and Rome with family and friends. I would love to go on an African safari to see wildlife in their natural habitat and to view the incredible scenery. Domestically, I would like to visit the National Parks and stay on a dude ranch. I’m up for adventures to unplug and enjoy the great outdoors!
